New regulations provide truth in advertising for medical services Posted Wednesday, July 2, 2008 by crsc Dr Hodgkinson said he welcomed the NSW Minister for Health, Reba Meagher’s announcement of the Medical Practice Amendment (Advertising) Regulation 2008 which gave stricter regulations to ‘before and after’ photographs for patients having cosmetic surgery. You will note on our website that all the ‘before and after’ photographs are very carefully presented. They are not in any way glamorized and photographs are taken in a studio by Dr Hodgkinson or his professional staff. We congratulate the NSW Minister for Health in trying to improve some standards as many advertisements in this field show scantily clad models in erotic poses which are seductive enticements to vulnerable women to proceed with breast augmentation or liposuction.
